I shot a gun before I ever drove a car, but I growing up on a ranch in Wyoming those things tend to happen. I spent much of my formative years being outcast by peers for being "different" (my parent's let me dye my hair & the first album I owned was Paul's Boutique). I dreamed of getting out of a state where the cows outnumber people 3-to-1 and my wish was granted when I was shipped off to England at 16. My small town life was split open by my own personal British Invasion and I was blessed to have friends educate me in everything from Led Zeppelin to The Smiths to Placebo. I attended the Glastonbury Festival (the UK's Woodstock) in 1999 and decided then that my life could not exist without music. I spent the next few years trying to figure out how to appease my parents by getting a degree that would let me do my two favorite things : listen to music and talk. Thus, I fell headfirst into Broadcast Journalism. I have done everything from voice an Emmy nominated PBS documentary to produce my own version of Behind the Music called "Backstage Betty" with local bands. I freelance for a couple different publications scattered around the U.S., which gives me the opportunity to interview bands ranging from The Deftones to Bloc Party. I just passed the two year mark as KUFO's Overnight Chick and am the right hand (wo)man of Lisa Wood, producing KUFO's local music program Viva La Luna every Sunday night. My two weaknesses are avocados and boys with tattoos.

Locked Out
Up until tonight, the most Macgyver-y thing I have had to do was cut the screen on a window with my car key in order to pry open said window and hoist myself about 4.5 feet off the ground into the window... and this was at night while it was raining. But the reality of the situation was that I knew I could get in.

One of my favorite bands will be gracing us with their presence on May 19th at the Roseland Theater. To give you a taste, here is a acoustic performance of "Mother Superior" from their latest album Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow. Maybe I can get an interview with Claudio, cross your fingers!
